For the second year running, Tel Aviv-Yafo has been ranked the world's fourth-leading startup ecosystem, according to the latest Global Startup Ecosystem Report published this week by Startup Genome, in partnership with the Global Entrepreneurship Network. The city trails only Silicon Valley, New York, and London.
Tel Aviv's "ecosystem value" now stands at $250.3 billion — an increase of 162% compared to the previous report in 2021. The figures are based on data collected between July 1, 2023 and December 31, 2025.
Growth is being driven mainly by artificial intelligence, big data and analytics, cybersecurity, and life sciences. Tel Aviv ranks 5th globally for AI startups, and sits among the global top 10 for R&D, talent strength, and talent retention.
Startup Genome founder Marc Penzel said: "What sets Tel Aviv apart is not just the ranking itself, but the depth of talent and innovation behind it — particularly in AI, big data, cyber, and life sciences." Tel Aviv-Yafo Mayor Ron Huldai also commented on the results, describing innovation as a core part of the city's identity.
