Funding

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) funds the New Kibbutz Program with resources from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The goal of the DAAD is to promote the international exchange of students from German universities and higher education institutions through this internship program, particularly within Israel’s startup & high-tech scene.

DAAD-New Kibbutz Scholarships

  • The DAAD scholarship offers funding for an internship abroad as part of the New Kibbutz program but requires a separate application process.
  • The application for DAAD funding should be submitted through the DAAD portal after successful internship placement (confirmation from AHK and acceptance by the Israeli company). The scholarship application must be submitted no later than 46 calendar days before the start of the internship.
  • Reapplications for the same funding year are not permitted. Applications for the following year are only allowed if the scholarship was not utilized. Such applications can be submitted starting November 1st of the current year, subject to the respective application deadlines.
  • Funding is subject to the availability of budgetary resources from the BMBF.
  • If an applicant withdraws from the internship after successful placement, they must bear the placement fee of 500 euros to AHK Israel themselves.
