Four Tel Aviv-based startups were named among TIME Magazine's list of the 200 best inventions of 2024, as announced by the Tel Aviv Municipality. These companies are BeeHero, UVeye, Aporia, and D-ID. A total of nine Israeli startups made the list, including InnerPlant CropVoice, OrCam Hear, Laguna Insight, BelongAI Dave, and Nanox.AI.

BeeHero:
Founded in 2017, this agri-tech company develops data-driven technologies for monitoring bee health and activity. Their "Pollination Insight Platform" uses a small device placed in fields to track bee activity, flower visits, and environmental conditions.

UVeye:
Founded in 2016, this company initially developed AI-based technologies for the security sector to detect weapons, explosives, and other threats. Their drive-through systems identify mechanical issues and anomalies on the undercarriage and exterior of vehicles. According to TIME, approximately 500,000 cars are scanned monthly, and the platform is used in 300 dealerships across the U.S.

Aporia:
Founded in 2020, the company offers "Guardrails," a system for monitoring machine-learning models. This system places a collection of small language models between a chatbot and its users, collectively intercepting inaccurate, inappropriate, or off-topic responses while providing better privacy controls for businesses.

D-ID:
Since its founding in 2017, the company introduced a chat platform in early 2023 that enables "face-to-face" conversations with an "AI Digital Human." CEO and co-founder Gil Perry stated that personalized AI assistants and companions will soon be available to everyone. "We make technology more human by giving it a face and making interactions more natural," he said.

These accolades highlight the innovative strength of Israel and particularly Tel Aviv’s role as a major hub for technological development.
