Check Point is acquiring AI security company Lakera in a deal valued at around $300 million. Founded in 2021 by former Google and Meta AI experts, Lakera provides protection for large language models, AI agents, and multi-agent control platforms. With development centers in Zurich and San Francisco and about 70 employees, the company offers real-time protection and red-teaming capabilities through its core products Lakera Red and Lakera Guard. Zurich will now serve as Check Point’s new global AI security research hub, complementing its development center in Tel Aviv.
