In a landmark cross-border deal, Israel’s NICE is acquiring the German conversational AI firm Cognigy, based in Düsseldorf, for approximately $955 million.

n a landmark cross-border deal, Israel’s NICE is acquiring the German conversational AI firm Cognigy, based in Düsseldorf, for approximately $955 million. The acquisition ranks among Europe’s largest AI exits to date. Founded in 2016, Cognigy delivers enterprise-grade agentic AI, supporting virtual assistants in over a hundred languages. Its customer roster includes Mercedes‑Benz, Lufthansa, Nestlé, and Bosch.

 

NICE plans to integrate Cognigy’s platform into its CXone Mpower suite, enhancing automation across both front and back-office operations. The transaction includes a $50 million earn‑out component, payable in cash and shares, and is scheduled to close in Q4 2025, subject to regulatory approval. Cognigy will continue to operate from Düsseldorf, ensuring continuity of R&D operations and local job retention.
